getting coffee from across the street (yes, a hop skip and a jump away), is an elaborately choreographed covert operation in our office.

the procedures are as follows:

0830 hours:	a member of our task force will signal to the other, discreetly done by a head nod or via email sent to the unit. a typical message reads: "who wants coffee?"
0832 hours:	a designated individual maneuvers from one desk to another, always aware of the enemy's position. the key is to camouflage with the proper gear; a pen and note pad is usually sufficient. with feigned seriousness masterfully worn on countenance, the incumbent esoterically collects data and funds.
0835 hours:	weatherman and derek are the elite members who execute the mission with ultimate prowess. one is sent into the concrete jungle to retrieve the bounty that is coffee.
0842 hours:	when the elite member returns with the prize, he nimbly dodges the enemy's eagle eye and places the coffee cups in the front office area. this may require him to enter through an alternate doorway. seizing his coffee (and only his coffee), he skillfully retreats to his desk, with the cup well hidden by his side.
0843 hours:	bluefunk reaches over and nonchalantly grabs her coffee.
0844 hours:	odie and gucci appear one after another, at the front office area to retrieve their goods.
0846 hours:	the familiar sound of heels approaches the front office area. elle opens a cabinet door and hovers, seemingly in search of paper clips or other such surplus items. seizing her coffee on the side, she triumphantly returns to her desk, prize well hidden to her left.
0850 hours:	captain wanders over as if wounded. he usually has the most difficult time in shaking off the enemy and as a result, is last in claiming his coffee.

if the mission fails, the enemy is upon us with full rage.
