i'm relieved to find that the korean movie entitled, "shiri", was not about asses...excuse me, i mean buttocks.

my korean friends had recommended this film to me a while back, and so i snatched it at first sight in the local video store. i must have expected too much out of it, since it didn't strike me as extraordinary. it follows the line of the classic hong kong action flicks, while not as well orchestrated. ...and it had fish ! everywhere ! aaargh. i was cowering for a good portion of the movie.

yes. yes. but why asses? ...because in japanese, "shiri" means "butt". so when my friends were telling me about the movie, the first image that came to mind was unfortunately...a butt.

in fact, the word refers to a type of fish that apparently swims in the rivers along the border of north and south korea. so rest-assured, one needn't feel perverse when renting this film.

if you enjoy violent, blood-bath, action flicks, by all means, rent it today !
